The Mayenne area is full of architectural and historical interest. Visit impressive châteaux, fish the many rivers and streams close by or simply enjoy the local flora and fauna – there are wild boar, buzzards, kestrels and other birds of prey (including the odd eagle on holiday from the Pyrenees!) and stunning forests and woods to walk or cycle through.

Le département de la Mayenne est un lieu d’intérêt architectural et historique. Vous pourrez y visiter des châteaux somptueux,  pêchez dans les nombreuses rivières et ruisseaux à proximité, ou simplement profiter de la faune et la flore locale : sangliers, buses, crécerelles et autres oiseaux de proie. Vous pourrez également profiter des belles forêts environnantes pour vous promener ou faire du vélo.

The main gîte has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Two further bedrooms are also available for a supplement – please enquire when booking if you wish to avail yourself of these as well.

Le gîte principal dispose de 2 chambres : une chambre double, et une chambre avec 2 lits jumeaux : salle de bain, cuisine et salle à manger. Deux autres chambres sont également disponibles avec un supplément. Si vous souhaitez en bénéficier, merci de la préciser dans votre réservation.

The kitchen is well-appointed, with a gas oven and hob, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, and all the kitchen equipment you are likely to need.

La cuisine est tout équipée : four à gaz, plaques de cuisson, micro-onde, bouilloire électrique, grille pain, et tous les ustensiles nécessaires.

Outside, there is a private garden (accessed from the lane coming into the property) with a children’s play area, sun loungers and picnic table with parasol.

 Nous disposons d’un jardin privé (accessible par la voie entrant dans la propriété) avec une aire de jeux pour enfants, des chaises longues et une table de pique-nique avec parasol.

At the end of the paddock, there is a lake (currently without fish, but we are planning to restore and restock it) and a small swamp area, home to lots of wildlife including kingfishers and other birds. If you would like to explore the local area, there is a lovely walk or cycle path that goes all the way to Mayenne town, and we have a selection of bicycles, which you are welcome to borrow if you would like to go further afield. There are also several beautiful woodland areas a short drive away, which are lovely to walk through.

Au bout du petit champ, il y a un lac (actuellement sans poissons, mais nous prévoyons de le réapprovisionner), et une petite zone de marécage, avec de nombreux animaux sauvages : martins pêcheurs et autres oiseaux. Si vous souhaitez explorer la région ou simplement aller jusqu’à la ville de Mayenne  par la piste cyclable, nous vous mettons à disposition des vélos. De magnifiques zones boisées sont également  à proximité, à pieds ou en voiture.

We live on the site, in the main house next door, so are available if you have questions or need help with anything; however, we respect your privacy and will not bother you during your stay unless required.

Nous vivons sur le site, dans la maison à côté, et sommes disponibles si vous avez besoin. Cependant nous respectons votre vie privée et ne vous dérangerons pas pendant votre séjour sauf si nécessaire.
